Like other birds, hens do not pee, as they dispose of ammonia in the form of uric acid through their faeces, unlike mammals which, on the other hand, dispose of ammonia in the form of urea, which can only be eliminated by the body by means of water, and therefore through pee.

The hens have very different sizes, based on the races (giants and dwarfs). A Jersey Giant hen can be 80 centimeters tall and weigh as much as 5 kilograms. In contrast, a Serama (bantam) breed hen is about 20 centimeters tall and rarely weighs 0.5 kilograms.
